We all need Him

All around the world God's love is flowing

God has called us all to be

There are some who slave away for a crust
Others hoard riches that will turn into dust
Some say 'we are not religious'
Others carry charms and are so superstitious
Some don't think of God at all
All they want is to have a ball

There are some whose lives torn apart by war
Can't live how they used to any more
Some have been forced to flee their home
In search of peace and rest they roam.
Some have watched their children die
For lack of food, they've heard them cry.

Some are so sophisticated
With material wealth their desire is sated
Some are so well educated
They can't see God in the world He created.
There are some who throw their money away
At the roulette tables they love to play.

Some who have their youth and health
Which is worth far more than a heap of wealth
Throw it all away for drugs and drink
Their minds are darkened – they cannot think
Some fall into crime and prostitution
And end up in an institution.

Some are victims of greed and corruption
Their lives wasted by despair and disruption
Some have no freedom, end up behind bars
Where they can't see the sun, the moon or stars
Some have to hide what they believe
Or a prison sentence they'll receive.

Some have been victims of violence
Mindless cruelty that makes no sense
Some there are who've been overtaken
By violent storms, their houses shaken
By earthquakes, or maybe volcanoes
Washed away by tidal waves or who knows?

Some there are who know the despair
Of losing those for whom they care.
Some who don't enjoy good health
Whose lives are slipping away by stealth.
There are some whose minds cannot make sense
Of a world that to them is dark and dense.

Part of His great family.

There are some who live where the truth has been hidden
To talk about Jesus is forbidden.
There are some who teach there is some other way
To get to God, to an idol they pray.
Some won't acknowledge His omnipotence
Under the guise of tolerance.

Then there are those who love His name
Redeemed by Him who bore their shame
On that cross at Calvary
He paid sin's price for you and me.
His resurrection life we share
Where ever we go He is there.

And now – what are we looking for?
The day when we will cry no more!
Our Saviour Jesus will appear
And wipe away our every tear.
With Him for ever we shall be
At last His glory we shall see.
